About This Event

As part of the Mercury Prize Fringe 2026, powered by Generator.

Nano Kino are Sarah Suri, Duncan Lloyd, Phil Morgan and Tom English are a Newcastle four-piece blending Shoegaze Rock and Dreampop with ethereal vocals, infectious guitar hooks and groove-heavy rhythms, creating a sound that's atmospheric, melodic and built for the live stage.

Since forming, the band have quickly made their mark on the North East scene, sharing stages with Arab Strap, Miki Berenyi Trio and Field Music, while building a reputation for sharp songwriting and an energetic live show.

Their debut album, Object A, was recorded at Blank Studios and Polestar and mixed by Sam Grant of Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs. The band's first three singles have picked up support from BBC 6 Music, BBC Newcastle Introducing and Amazing Radio UK & USA, with Reset earning praise from The Crack for its "power-pop melody" and "chunky and funky" groove.

Fan favourite Wipeout has now clocked up over 20,000 Spotify plays, while Square Eyes takes aim at our obsession with phones, social media and the increasingly blurry line between online and real life.

Fresh from a packed album launch at The Cluny 2 and an appearance at Last Train Home Festival, Nano Kino are bringing their atmospheric guitars, cool vocals, sharp hooks and a rhythm section that locks tightly together to the stage.

Catch them live and expect to hear a lot more from Nano Kino.

As part of Newcastle City Council’s support for the Mercury Prize Fringe, every Fringe gig is Pay As You Feel - making incredible live music accessible to everyone. Every penny contributed goes directly back to the local venues hosting the programme, helping strengthen the spaces that keep our city’s music scene alive year-round.

This event is 16 and over. Any ticket holder unable to present valid identification indicating that they are at least 16 years of age will not be admitted to this event, and will not be eligible for a refund.
