A better future is possible today, and it starts at your local pub!

Join us for a drink after the _shift conference! (https://www.spacegroup.co.uk/shift/programmes/2026)

_shift 2026 is where The North East talks decarbonisation.

In 2026, Shift is widening the conversation. It’s a day for different perspectives to meet and new ways of thinking to enter the room. A chance to compare notes, join forces and act.

Shift is for everyone, from established voices to emerging changemakers, united by a common goal. Tickets are free, and include full-day access, lunch, session recordings and networking opportunities with like-minded peers.

About People Planet Pint

Do you wish trains were cheaper, there were more trees on your street, and more solar panels over local car parks?

Are you frustrated that with increasingly wild weather people are still paving over nature, and you’re left feeling like the only one who cares in your friends WhatsApp group?

You're not alone! You've just been in the wrong room.

People Planet Pint is your local sustainability meetup - no pitches, no presentations, no panels.

Just like-minded people talking about the planet over a pint (or two).

You don't need to be a sustainability professional. You don't need to know what "Scope 3" means (most people don't!).

If you’re curious about what’s going on locally and feel that a better future is possible - come along to meet others like you and chat about what’s going on locally, how to get involved and what solutions are out there.

Come for conversations with real people - it’s a space to swap ideas, find opportunities, get things off your chest or just sit back and listen. You'll leave with practical ways to get involved and leave a lot more optimistic about the future!

Every job is a climate job, so come along to ask the questions you've been too afraid to ask, and finally meet people who actually get it.

Everyone is welcome, whatever your experience or background.

A better future is possible now. And it starts at your local pub, with a pint in hand.

So, got a free evening? Come find your people.

Harriet Lee (https://www.linkedin.com/in/harrietjlee)

I've always been passionate about sustainability, but it was working as a Recycling Engagement Officer, writing my Law LLB dissertation on single-use vape waste, and training as a Climate Fresk Facilitator that showed me that sustainability was the right career path for me.

Now as an EHS Compliance Consultant at iCOR, I help businesses understand their environmental and health & safety obligations; translating complex legislation into practical steps. What really drives me is having conversations about sustainability and learning from others. I believe everyone has something valuable to contribute to the sustainability conversation, even if they don't quite realise it yet!

I host People Planet Pint to foster a community where everyone is welcome (from sustainability experts to the climate curious and everything in between) because talking about sustainability is essential and we all have a lot to learn from each other.
