Welcome to your maternity tour at Newcastle’s maternity facilities. We’re here to help you feel confident, informed, and comfortable about your birthing experience. The visit will include a look around:-
Newcastle Birthing Centre - a midwife-led unit offering a home-like environment for low-risk births.
Maternity Assessment Unit - A triage area which is open 24/7 and is the first point of contact if you’re concerned about your pregnancy.
Delivery Suite - which is led by a team of Midwives, obstetricians, anaesthetists, and paediatricians who work together for higher-risk pregnancies or those requiring medical intervention.
Postnatal Ward - where you’ll stay after birth for recovery and support. You will be looked after by a team of Midwives, Obstetricians and neonatal staff assisting with feeding, baby care, and recovery advice.
Also throughout the tour you will receive additional information about parking, food and the vaccination hub.
Please ask any questions and raise any concerns during your tour. Our aim is to support your birthing journey with reassurance and clarity.
