CIOB North East Tomorrow's Leaders, in collaboration with Northumbria University, presents a series of site visits

Come along and join the CIOB North East, in partnership with the School of Architecture and the Built Environment, Northumbria University, for the ‘Constructing the North East’ monthly programme of site visits.

Visitors will be given a guided tour of the sites, meet the people delivering the projects, and see first-hand the huge range of roles that keep construction moving, from site managers and quantity surveyors to architects, engineers, digital construction specialists, design managers, health & safety leads, construction managers, social value managers, project managers and more. It's a chance to ask questions and get a genuine glimpse of what a career in construction actually looks and feels like.

Whether you're a student weighing up your options or simply curious about local projects, these visits are designed for you.

Join us for an exclusive behind-the-scenes site visit to Cramlington Learning Village, delivered in partnership with Bowmer + Kirkland.

This event offers a unique opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the construction of a major education project, exploring the challenges, innovations and collaborative approaches involved in delivering modern learning environments.

Attendees will hear directly from the project team about key aspects of the development, including project management, design coordination, health and safety, sustainability, and the practical realities of delivering a live construction project.

The visit will include:

A project overview presentation from Bowmer + Kirkland

Insights into the construction process and project delivery

A guided tour of the site

The opportunity to ask questions and network with fellow built environment professionals and B+K staff

This event is open to CIOB members, non-members and students, making it an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in construction, project management, architecture, engineering or the wider built environment to learn from an experienced project team and see a significant development taking shape.

Whether you are an established industry professional, at the start of your career, or currently studying for a construction-related qualification, this visit will provide valuable knowledge and practical insights that can support your professional development.

Important Information

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Full PPE is mandatory for all attendees. This includes safety boots, high-visibility clothing, gloves, safety glasses and a hard hat with a chin strap.

Attendees who do not arrive with the required PPE may be refused access to the site.

Details regarding site access, safety requirements and meeting arrangements will be provided to registered attendees before the event.
