About This Event

Voices of Valjean brings West End stars to Newcastle Cathedral on 2 October 2026. Tickets start at £29.50 for the musical theatre concert featuring powerhouse vocals. The event is themed around Les Misérables.

‘Voices of Valjean’ is an unforgettable evening of powerhouse vocals and iconic musical theatre bringing together three extraordinary West End stars, each having conquered one of the most legendary roles in musical theatre history – Jean Valjean in ‘Les Misérables’. Backed by a full live band, this spectacular concert celebrates the music that has defined their careers, featuring beloved songs from ‘Les Misérables’ alongside showstopping numbers from some of the greatest musicals of all time, including ‘Miss Saigon’, ‘Chess’, ‘The Phantom of the Opera’, ‘West Side Story’, ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, and many more. Starring: John Owen-Jones – A record-breaking West End and Broadway leading man, John is best known for his critically acclaimed and award-winning performances as Jean Valjean in ‘Les Misérables’ and as The Phantom in ‘The Phantom of the Opera’. He remains the youngest actor in West End history to have played Valjean, a role he has also performed twice on Broadway. With nearly 2,000 performances as The Phantom, John holds the record for the most appearances in the role in the West End. Joseph Anthony – A formidable West End talent, Joseph has also taken on the iconic role of Jean Valjean in ‘Les Misérables’, bringing his own powerful interpretation to this demanding and celebrated part, as well as many other roles throughout his career. Brad Barnley – A standout West End voice, Brad made his professional debut in the UK tour of ‘The Phantom of the Opera’, understudying both The Phantom and Raoul. At 26, Brad went on to make his West End debut in ‘Les Misérables’, starring in the historic role of Jean Valjean on more than fifty occasions. Together, these three remarkable performers unite for a thrilling night of music, storytelling, and vocal brilliance. With the spellbinding sound of a live band and three of the West End’s finest voices, ‘Voices of Valjean’ is a must-see for musical theatre fans and music lovers alike, offering a rare opportunity to experience the power of three Valjeans sharing the stage in one extraordinary concert.
