Join Janie (hand & heart basketry (https://www.instagram.com/_.hand_and_heart._/)) for a cosy Saturday afternoon to make your own twinkling willow star. Perfect to adorn your home during the dark nights of winter.

In the workshop you will select sturdy willow from a selection of natural coloured variety’s to create the frame, then weave flexible willow rods to secure the star frame. Finally interlacing with fairly lights to add the final touches of sparkle.

These stars look great hung or placed just about anywhere indoors or out!

The willow is grown in Northumberland and harvested by hand each year. Willow is sustainable and durable making it a great choice for decorations.

All materials and tools will be provided. Although quite unlikely, willow can click clothing. Janie will provide the aprons I have as an option, but consider bringing your own or just don’t wear your very favourite knit wear.

Some finger strength is required to weave willow but if have any concerns don’t hesitate to get in touch and we can consider other soft fibres as an alternative.
