**Please note these events are structured workshops, there will be short presentations on the deposit plan and process but also the opportunity to view proposals in the consultation and therefore there is the option to drop in to comment informally. The event will conclude with an explanation of the methods available to submit any representations to the Council.
Furthermore, the events are not solely targeted to discuss the area of the venue but will be looking at the County Borough as a whole and you are welcome to attend any of these events.
Whilst the event will discuss all aspects of the Deposit Plan Consultation and we will note the comments of participants, this does not replace the need for individuals or organisations to reply, formerly, to the consultation. Finally, please note Council Officers will not attend these events and the purpose is for Planning Aid Wales, as an independent facilitator to explain the Deposit Plan, encourage your consideration of the proposals and advise how you can participate in the consultation.

Caerphilly County Borough Council is working on a Replacement Local Development Plan (2RLDP) for the Council area. This plan will ensure the Borough can grow sustainably over the next 10 years to 2035.
The Council will be issuing their Deposit Plan Consultation for consultation on 26 October 2026.
The Deposit Plan contains:
The key land-use issues for the County Borough;
The Vision, Aims and Objectives that respond to the key issues, challenges and opportunities;
The scale of future growth in population, housing and jobs and the broad spatial distribution for the growth; such 6,165 homes over the plan period, plus a flexibility allowance, including at least 1,906 affordable homes and 40.3 Ha of new employment land
A network of community facilities including leisure, education and health.
Safeguards land, including: Nature Conservation e.g. Sites of Importance
for Nature Conservation, Landscape Value e.g. Special Landscape Areas
and Visually Important Local Landscapes, Green Wedges
Detailed policies that will be applied to all new development proposals, including: Placemaking, Climate, Nature and Housing emergencies. Green and Blue Infrastructure, Environmental Protection, Protection and promotion of Town Centres, Tourism and the Historic Environment.
Planning Aid Wales has been commissioned by Caerphilly County Borough Council to coordinate community engagement workshops in relation to their 2RLDP Deposit Plan, the consultation period is Wednesday 28 October 2026 – Wednesday 9 December 2026.
