Ever lit a candle for an intention and then found yourself staring at the flame wondering what you're actually meant to be looking for?

Welcome to Spell School Newport! A beginner-friendly evening exploring one of the most accessible ways to practise spellwork: candle magic.

You don't need any prior knowledge, belief, or experience to be here. Just curiosity.

In this session, we'll cover:

What candle magic actually is and why candles are such a useful tool within spellwork

How to choose the right candle for your intention, including different candle types and colours

How to cleanse, prepare and charge a candle before you begin

Different ways to personalise your candle through carving, oils, herbs and petitions

How to build a candle spell from intention through to activation

How to read the flame, wax and remains without convincing yourself that every flicker means something

How to close, extinguish and dispose of your candle spellwork properly

Hands-on practical work: you'll create, dress and charge your own candle spell to take away with you

We'll also look at the difference between noticing what happens during a candle working and constantly searching for signs. Sometimes a flame is doing something interesting. Sometimes there's a draft.

The aim is for you to leave understanding the actual foundations of candle magic, so you can create your own workings instead of relying on somebody else's recipe every time.

Who this is for:

Complete beginners, the curious, and anyone who wants to feel more confident using candles within their own spellwork - no experience necessary, everything offered is invitational.
