At Lanhydrock, the storytelling event 'The legend of Jan Tregeagle by Mythwalker' presents a 30-minute performance that explores the history and folklore surrounding Jan Tregeagle. This event is suitable for families with children aged 8 and older, and admission is required.
Discover the legend of Jan Tregeagle in a specially created storytelling performance by Mythwalker.
Inspired by the history of Lanhydrock and its 17th-century estate steward, the story follows Tregeagle's rise to power, his pursuit of the mysterious Anne Jeffries and his transformation into a figure of Cornish folklore.
Blending history, myth and local legend, this 30-minute performance brings one of Cornwall's stories to life for families with children aged 8+.
Mythwalker, aka Adam Skerrett, is an actor, poet and wandering storyteller with a love of Cornish fairytale and folklore. Drawing on his background as an actor and theatre-maker, Adam brings history and legend to life through the age-old art of oral storytelling.
Performances take place in the Servants' Hall at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. Each performance lasts around 45 minutes.
