Come check out what’s happening at Mencap’s training academy and see how they’re making a difference!

Come and learn about our supported internships and pre-internships for young people with EHCPs.

The Mencap Training Academy is hosting an open evening to promote places for the 2026/27 academic year on our supported internship and pre-internship programmes in Northamptonshire.

Our programmes are open to young people aged 16-24 who have an EHCP and who want to find a job. Learners must be willing to attend classroom sessions 2/3 days a week dependant on which programme they choose.

We help them achieve by teaching them about the skills and behaviours needed in the workplace during sessions at our classroom located in Northampton. We also support them to complete exciting work placement/experience opportunities with a wide range of employers.

Some of the employers we work with in Northamptonshire includes Greene King, GXO, Marstons, Trilogy active, and many more.

The open evening will provide more information about placements, the difference between supported internships and pre-internships and how to start the enrolment process.

The event is open to young people interested in enrolling on a supported internship or pre-internship, as well as their parents/carers and professionals working with young people with SEND. Please sign up using this Eventbrite page to secure your place.

We look forward to welcoming you on Wednesday 28th October 1-3pm at :-
