About This Event

The British Comedian of the Year: Norfolk Heat will be held on 14 October 2026 at The Lanes Comedy Club in Norwich. This competition features comedians performing their best material, with audience votes determining who advances to the semi-finals. The event is part of a nationwide series of heats for the prestigious comedy title.

Get ready to laugh out loud as the circuit's funniest battle it out for the British Comedian crown!

It's the FA Cup of Comedy! The British Comedian of the Year competition is rolling into Southampton for one of the 26 heats taking place throughout England, Scotland and Wales. Open to comedians of all levels including some TV names, it has the biggest cash prize in UK comedy, £10,001 to go with the prestigious title.

Hundreds of comedians apply to take part, only some are chosen for the heats, and only one person will take home the cash!

Acts perform 10 minutes of their best material and you, the audience, vote on the night to see who goes through to the semi-finals. The power! Will the young upstarts beat the TV names, will the rising stars beat the seasoned pros…
