Training to understand the impact of parental substance use on young people, explore risks, and strengthen practice with families.

Join us for a training session led by Luke Adcock, Service Manager at The Matthew Project, and Sarah Healy, Safeguarding Manager. The Matthew Project supports young people affected by substance use across Norfolk.

This session is designed to deepen your knowledge and strengthen your practice when working with children, young people, and families impacted by parental or personal substance use.

In this training, you will:

Develop an understanding of the impact parental substance misuse can have on children and young people, including developmental, psychological, and physical effects.

Recognise the impact a young person’s substance use can have on their family.

Explore attitudes and values towards substance use and consider their impact on practice.

Understand the risk factors and indicators that make young people more vulnerable to exploitation and county lines.
