As part of this year's YARMONICS, Russell Haswell will give a talk about his working life to date, which will probably cover subjects including Coventry, Tangerine Dream, Coventry Cathedral, Paperboy, Record Lending Library, Shock of the New, Land Art, Coventry School of Art, Digital Audio, Sound Designer II, GRM/tools, mute records, London, Grindcore, ECLIPSE, Sheffield, Warp Records, London’s East End, YBA’s, Frieze, Disobey Club, extended technique, LOST, Vienna, NYC, PS1, Yasunao Tone, SONAR, IASPIS Stockholm, All Tomorrows Parties, CCA Kitakyushu, NIFCA Suomenlinna, Mego, FALSCH, Vienna, OCA Oslo, Anti-virus, Mark Bain, CCMIX Paris, Iannis Xenakis, Diffusion, Cinema Surround, Modular Synthesisers, Peter Zinovieff, News Agencies, Internet Influencers, geological time, and other things...

RUSSELL HASWELL is an artist, record producer, free improvisor, computer musician, noise aficionado, and curator. He was trained at Coventry School of Art, graduating in 1991. Russell’s extraordinary conceptual oeuvre resists easy summarisation, focused on the site-specific, performance and methodology of large-scale sound works, sometimes in surround. He has given solo audio presentations at major Art and Music festivals and events, in art galleries, concert halls, night clubs and rock venues in 36 countries and counting. Most recently at the Pirelli HangarBicocca, Sonar Festival, ICA and Coventry Cathedral. As a curator, he has delivered projects for PS1/MoMa, All Tomorrow's Parties, Aldeburgh Music, Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary and Cafe Oto. He lives and works in Glasgow.YARMONICS is delivered collaboratively by originalprojects; and Eastern Ear.This year we are kindly supported by Play Produce Promote, Arts Council England, and The Ranworth Trust, with in kind support from our many community partners.
