Join us at East Gallery for the preview of Ballad of the Flowers, a major new film project by acclaimed British Indian artist Sutapa Biswas.
The debut of a new single-screen film by British Indian artist Sutapa Biswas exploring the enduring legacy of British colonialism through the intertwined histories of botany, trade and empire. Combining dance, performance and poetic narrative, the work reflects on hidden histories and the human impact of colonial power.
Preview night: Thursday 5 November 2026, 5–7pm
Ballad of the Flowers, Chapter 1 will be screened at 5pm, 5.30pm, 6pm and 6.30pm. The film has a running time of just over 15 minutes, and visitors are welcome to arrive at any point during the evening.
Location: East Gallery, Norwich University of the Arts
Exhibition: 6 November 2026 – 23 January 2027
