A 3000pt 4 game narrative doubles event, where the Sigilite's forces clash against cultists of the dark powers.

Welcome to Against Those Dark Powers; a Warhammer: The Horus Heresy Narrative Event. This pack is designed to give you all the information you need to play some great games of Heresy on 14th/15th November 2026 in Nottingham. Within we’ll cover the format, army creation rules and restrictions, the background of the narrative for the weekend and information about the venue and timings on the day.

In Against Those Dark Powers you and your doubles partner will play 4 games of Warhammer: The Horus Heresy. There will be an optional Saturday night “megagame” “The Assault on Castle Hedregar”

This event will focus on a conflict between an alliance of mighty warriors gathered by the Imperium, who are attempting to best a cabal of sorcerers attempting to materialise demons onto the world of Murandee VI.

Each player will bring a 1500pt force as part of a 3000pt doubles force. Each Loyalist team will be led by an Agent of the Sigilite (see below), and each Traitor team will be led by a Cultist of the Empyrean (see below). Missions will often require special actions or heroic endeavours by your character.

This is not a competitive event. We’re best known for running the Goonhammer Open Heresy Events for the past 3 years. We’re all about narrative forward events and play experiences filled with spectacle, and you should plan accordingly. Aim to bring something fun and interesting and not something overtuned and competitive. In fact, there’ll be no personal awards for winning the most games or highest VP. With that said, do be aware that you may end up facing any kind of army and plan accordingly.

It is a sadness that the Order of Remembrancers did not survive to see such a gathering of gene-wrought might that mustered for the heroic assault on Murandee. They would have written verse and sheet music enough to fill a library, crafted a hundred statues of marble and bronze, and spilt an ocean’s worth of oil paint. It is a further tragedy that no record of their deeds would ever leave the sorcery-stained planet.

It is through the intelligence provided by the Knight-Errant operation on Gamda IV and the report of Callidus operative SV-45 that we were made aware of the warp ritual that the enemy planned to conduct on Murandee VI. We came to understand that traitor elements, led by the XVth and XVIIth, had concocted a ritual to fully breach the walls between the Material and the Empyreal on the shipyard planet. Once the enemy were able to fully materialise on the planet, they would claim and corrupt the docked sector fleet, wetting the decks with the blood of the populace and deconsecrate them into permanent material stabilisation. This thrust of demonically crewed ships would then be sent onward to Terra.

Once we informed the Sigilite of this plot, our own plan swung into motion. This was not an operation to which Primarchs could be deployed or entire battalions mustered. Instead we gathered hand-picked individual platoons and squadrons for their skill and unwavering determination, requisitioning them quickly and quietly from task-forces, formations and garrisons across three Segmentums. Along with the Knights-Errant, other key operatives were recruited: Valdor granted a Grand Soladity of Custodians, Jenetia Krole offered a kill-team of Silent Sisters and the True Mechanicum sent a cabal of magos who were researchers in warp-craft abjuration. With them were brought detachments of trusted allies, to be thrust against the Enemy's fearsome host of warp-scarred sorcerers, machine-mad tech-adepts and demon lords.

So was Task Force Adjurity gathered, and set upon our wretched enemy.
