The Commonwealth War Graves Commission will host a free tour of Nottingham Church (Rock) Cemetery on 7th November 2026. Led by an experienced volunteer, the tour will provide insights into the historical significance of the site and honour those commemorated there. This community event aims to educate and engage participants with the heritage of the cemetery.

MEETING POINT at the Cross of Sacrifice near the main entrance.
Among the 13 Acres at Nottingham (Rock) Cemetery there are 101 Casualties from both World Wars including 2 Canadians and 2 Australians buried in Scattered Graves.
The first soldier buried here was Gunner Albert Atkin aged 42 originally buried in a Pauper's Grave and thanks to the CWGC has a more respectful place of rest. The Cemetery was opened in 1856 and designed by Edwin Patchitt.

The tour lasts approx. 60 mins and covers about 500 metres on paths and grass with uneven ground and slopes.

Please dress for the weather and wear suitable footwear.
Only assistance dogs are allowed in the cemetery.
