About This Event

David Eagle has a knack for crafting witty one-liners that hit all the right nerves, and his show at The Canalhouse promises to be a riotous night out in Nottingham. Whether he's skewering contemporary culture or just cracking up with personal anecdotes, Eagle always keeps things light yet sharp under his warm, laid-back exterior.

Your favourite blind folk-singing comedian returns.

Since my last Nottingham Comedy Festival show I've had my own stand-up series on BBC Radio 4. Nevertheless I've not increased the ticket price, partly because, as the title suggests, I haven't really decided yet what this show will be about. But in fairness, I'm writing this blurb in June, and the show's not until November. I'll probably bang on some more about being blind, because it's useful to exploit a niche. I'll probably sing a song and play the accordion, because I'm a brazen crowd pleaser. I've got some thoughts about gospel music, stories about an odd altercation in an American airport, a weird experience with a nun and a run-in with some racists in Kent. I might play you some of my weird childhood recordings that I discovered on some old cassettes. I've got a poem from the perspective of a piece of discarded chewing gum and a song about a misunderstood pigeon. In fact, now that I've

written this, I reckon the show's going to be absolutely incredible. I'd suggest booking your tickets now, before misguided hubris leads me to whack up the price.
