About This Event

The I Am A Maker public workshop will take place on 17 October 2026 at Beeston Library in Nottingham. Participants will have the opportunity to create a piece of kiln carved glass artwork using glass fibre paper while learning about the kiln carving process. The workshop features various performers who will guide attendees through this hands-on experience. The event is free to attend.

Come and create a piece of beautiful kiln carved glass artwork (using glass fibre paper) and learn all about the process of kiln carving.

Kilncarving involves cutting out pieces of fibre paper for the glass to slump overonce it is fired in a kiln, creating a relief design once the glass settlesaround the cut fibre paper. Designs will be taken away and fired, resulting ina beautiful piece of glass kiln carved artwork to be collected from the libraryat a later date.
