The Make Do & Mend workshop is held at the Climate Hub on 15 August 2026. Participants can learn basic sewing, darning, and altering techniques to extend the life of everyday items. This session is free of charge.
Learn how to extend the life of everyday things and learn the basics of sewing, darning and altering.
Join our free, monthly workshops at the Climate Hub!
Bring any items that need alterations, adaptations, knitting, stitching, patching, mending, darning, crochet, or even embroidery. All materials and sewing equipment will be provided but make sure you bring the items you wish to repair.
Jude Marsh, an artist, and Meadows resident experienced in sewing, mending, and upcycling garments, will facilitate the session.
Come for the whole duration or drop in.
Free tea, coffee, biscuits provided.

Funding for the Green Meadows project, requires Meadows residents to be prioritised for events. If you live outside the Meadows, we encourage you to join us and take part, but please be aware that you may be added to a waitlist until the places are confirmed.
Transport info to get to the Hub:
There is restricted on-street vehicle parking by the NEP Hub, limited to two hours. Please be aware there is residential permit holder parking in place in the area. Therefore, we recommend either walking or cycling to the Hub. If you are travelling from further afield, there are the following options using public transport, or park and rides:
Buses:
The nearest bus stops are on London Road (Trent Bridge Victoria Embankment stops) and are served by the following bus routes:
The Navy Line (including 1A, B, E, 3, 3A, 4 and N4),
The Green Lines 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 (including 9B), 10 (including 10C, X), 11 (including 11A, C).
The Kinchbus 9
Plus bus routes 19, 33, 90 (90A), 92, COT the cotgrave, KC the keyworth, RM mainline and RV1 rushcliffe villager.
The closest tram stop is Meadows Embankment on the tram line to Clifton South. It is an 0.7 mile walk along Bathley Street to the NEP Hub.
Nottingham Train Station is a just a one mile walk along Arkwright Walk to the NEP Hub.
