Easily one of the most underrated bands on the scene right now, Downswing are an American metalcore band hailing from Albany, New York.

Formed in 2017, the band gained early traction after receiving social media backing from Vincent Bennett (The Acacia Strain) leading to a spot on the 2017 Vans Warped Tour.

Their latest album “And Everything Was Dark”, released in 2025, has been widely praised by critics and fans alike for its crushing grooves, massive melodic choruses and a refined modern metalcore evolution.

The musical world of Angel Number is as self-contained as it can be whilst embracing the influence of a wide range of artists from Crystal Castles via Depeche Mode to My Bloody Valentine and Radiohead.

Their debut EP “I.” released in 2024 drew further shoegaze-esque comparisons to huge names such as Holy Fawn and Loathe, and was described as both “dark and ethereal” and “grand and unique”, gaining an 8.5/10 from boolintunes.com
