Moving & Handling 1 Day Foundation Training is an inclusive workshop for both adults and children. Handling children & young people with a physical disability
Foundation Course
Please Note! This is a one-day course and it is free to register a place. The cost is £200 per person.
This course covers the basic knowledge and skills needed to assist and move children with a range of physical disabilities, whilst ensuring adults' (support staff) own and others' safety.
It is both a theoretical and practical based course which incorporates a variety of teaching methods including demonstration of practical handling activities/tasks, discussion and group work.
If you require a translator or have any other specific needs please contact us on the email below.
This course is available to staff in schools and private day nursery settings, within the City of Nottingham.
Small child training only (hoist training not included for this date).
Certificates are provided and are valid for 18 months.
Please contact us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend in order for us to allocate the place to another person and to prevent you from incurring an unnecessary charge (please see Terms and Conditions for more information).

The car park is charged at £4.00 per day, payable by RingGo (downloadable App).

Attire
When you attend the course, please ensure that you wear appropriate clothing: non-slip, enclosed shoes (no boots) and clothes that allow free, unrestricted movement without compromising modesty.
You must also be fit to handle, to undertake the practical sessions of the course. These involve physical activity, handling people and objects. If you are in any doubt as to your fitness for such sessions, do not participate in them and seek medical advice.

Oak Field School reserve the right to cancel any course if the deemed number of participants needed to run the course is not reached.
Participants must have read the dress code information.
Cancellation Policy - Notice Period charges if you cancel:
6 - 3 months prior to the event - No charge
3 - 1 month prior to the event - 25%
Less than 28 days prior to the event - 50%
Less than 14 days prior to the event - 50%
Less than 7 days prior to the event -100%
