About This Event
Tales from The Workhouse takes place at The Workhouse and Infirmary on August 1st, 2026. This workshop involves activities such as writing on slate and learning to pick oakum.
Write on a slate, help with the washing, learn to pick oakum. Meet our costumed characters and come and find out what life was like within The Workhouse. Listen to their stories as you encounter the inmates doing their daily jobs. Normal admission charges apply. Last entry one hour before closing.
There will be 3 storytelling sessions at 11:30am, 12:30pm and 2pm. Each session will last 30 minutes. Booking not required.
