The Up the Nutbrook! event will take place at 1881 Cafe in Nottingham on 23 August 2026 at 09:00. The event is a bike ride with a route including canal tow paths, nature reserves, and viaducts. Admission is free.
The longest weekend ride yet! This has got a bit of everything in it...canal tow paths, nature reserves and viaducts!
This is our longest Women in Tandem ride yet - the route will be around 30 miles of undulating terrain, with a lot more off-road than usual so please bear in mind that slim road tyres will not be suitable for this ride. We will traverse lots of canalways and bridleways, parks and quiet roads, there will be plenty of gravel so a hybrid bike with good tyres is a must! This ride is definitely more suited to an intermediate cyclist owing to the nature of the terrain, distance and elevation. There will be a cafe stop a little bit after the halfway point.
We welcome women of all ages, abilities and backgrounds, we ride at the pace of the slowest rider, stop for breaks whenever you want and promise you will never be alone at the back!
MEETING POINT: 1881 Cafe, Victoria Embankment. Click here for a google pin.
TIME: meet at 9:45am, ready to ride at 10am.
Click here for a link to Komoot for the full route file.
You’ll be in safe hands, we’re experienced ride leaders who love cycling. Before and during the ride we will be sharing all the tips and tricks to get the most out of cycling.
This ride is organised by Women in Tandem, a Community Interest Company based in Nottingham that aims to support and empower women to ride bikes. The session is funded by The National Lottery Reaching Communities Fund.
You won’t need anything fancy, just a bike that rides, comfortable weather-appropriate clothing, water, snacks and some enthusiasm for cycling! Let us know if there is anything we can do to help enable you to join this ride.
Any questions, please get in touch we would love to hear from you.
