A fun, exciting, inspiring workshop that focuses on bringing all the key elements together to write a wonderful story.

Whether new to creative writing or a seasoned author, this workshop explores/revisits the key elements and ingredients necessary for great, compelling writing i.e., what makes a story sparkle; the techniques of which absolutely apply to novel writing too.

Working on either your own idea or one of the provided story prompts, we focus on what we need to include by actually creating and developing your story throughout the day.

With accompanying notes, inspirational writing exercises and mechanisms to create ideas, as a group we discuss each of the ingredients we need to work on, utilising these exercises to develop our plots, structure, characters, locations, backstories and a whole host more. Plus, there are dedicated blocks of time to write your stories, the aim being to complete your story by the end of the day. And there's nothing like being in the company of fellow-writers to really get creative!

Some of the key elements you will learn:

Structure

Character

Location

Dramatic event

Reaction to dramatic event

Resolution

Plotting, plot twists & pace

Plus, you will gain insights into the delivery of your story, creating the very best reader experience possible.

"This workshop is a game changer. It opened my eyes to everything that's required to write a full, rich book. I learn best by actually doing it, rather than being in a classroom. Superb!' Ryan, Bromley.
