A Trauma-Healing Theology Retreat at Stanton House
We are each deeply Beloved since forever, and we have been Entrusted with one another. For many, trauma makes us feel anything but. We often find ourselves caught between lived experience and spiritual platitudes, wondering: How does my faith account for my nervous system? And where is God in the architecture of my pain?
You're Invited!
Join us for the ACC accredited Beloved and Entrusted learning retreat at Stanton House, Oxfordshire. This is more than training; it is a retreat into sanctuary. In the quiet village of Stanton St John, we provide a safe, gentle space to explore how the science of trauma and the truth of God’s healing redemption work together to bring us home to ourselves, to each other and creation, and to God.
The Training & Experience
With the Beloved and Entrusted frameworks for understanding trauma and trauma-healing theology, we move beyond theory into lived integration:
Theology of Human Flourishing: Rediscover the One who wonderfully created us human for the good of ourselves and all around us.
Understanding Trauma: Gain a clear, evidence-based understanding of what trauma is, how trauma impacts the whole human system, and how it heals.
Theology of Trauma and Its Healing: Discover the One who intricately designed our physiology, honouring the "temple" that remembers, and which He created to heal.
Embodied Spiritual Rhythms: Experience practices specifically curated so sensitive nervous systems can encounter God’s love and presence—integrated with the peace of Stanton House’s gardens and the comfort of home-cooked meals!
A Restorative Weekend
Our flourishing is bolstered by the environment we inhabit. At Stanton House, you will be supported by:
Nourishment: Enjoy the warmth of delicious, home-cooked meals prepared with care.
Home Comforts: Rest in the comfort of your own comfy bedroom with its own bathroom, or make the most of the lounges and cosy corners with easy chairs.
The Grounds: Find moments for reflection in the beautiful, expansive gardens—a natural cathedral for prayer, breathing, and grounding.
The Result
You will leave the Oxfordshire countryside with a clearer understanding of your story and practical tools for integrating your faith and humanity. You will have a renewed sense that you are Beloved, that your faith can hold the weight of your experience, and that you are Entrusted as a healing presence for others.
