Animal Consciousness and the Brain

The St Hilda's Brain and Mind Series of workshops (Brain and Mind | St Hilda's College Oxford) continues this coming year with the theme of 'Consciousness'.

The workshop on 'Animal Consciousness and the Brain' will take place on Tuesday, 27th October. 2026, 5:00-7:15pm, Jacqueline du Pre Music Building, St Hilda's College. It will investigate the topic of animal consciousness and the brain from the points of view of philosophy (Dr. Walter Veit, University of Reading), psychology (Prof. Lars Chittka, Queen Mary, University of London) and neuroscience (Dr. Alexandrina Guran, Medical School, University of Hamburg, Germany). The talks will be followed by a Q&A. session.

'Animal Consciousness and the Brain' is an in-person event, where all are welcome. It is free, but booking is required.
