First Aid for Babies and Young Children
A 2 hour course for parents and carers of babies and young children, delivered by experienced first aid trainer Paul.
The course will use a variety of presentation, demonstration and hands on practical work to equip you to deal with a range of emergency situations including unresponsive babies & children, bangs to the head, CPR, febrile seizures, choking, burns & scalds, and meningitis & sepsis.
Non-walking babies welcome. Feeding, changing, soothing babies during the session is not a problem at all.
A £15 contribution for this course is suggested.*
We run this course every two months.
Feedback
"Really informative and confidence-boosting"
"It's been a while since my babies were babies, but now there are grandchildren, this was absolutely perfect. Paul was brilliant and honestly I thought it was the best pitched course I have ever attended, he was engaging and fabulously informative. So thank you for enabling us to refresh, and reboost our confidence!"
*We work hard to fundraise as much as possible from grants to keep our sessions and support open to all local families who need it on an optional donation basis - no judgement, no questions, we know funds can be tight on maternity leave. However, please bear in mind that this is an ongoing challenge and we are trusting our lovely community to work with us on this too. If the £15 contribution would prevent you from coming please enter whatever amount you feel able to. However, if you can pay a contribution towards this course, please support your fellow mums/dads and do so, or it will become unsustainable for us to continue to run it at a low cost for all. Thank you!
PLEASE NOTE: Didcot Baby Monday is a small charity and our remit is for families in Didcot and surrounding villages (Sutton Courtney, Chilton, Harwell, Steventon, Milton, Culham, Blewbury, N/S Hagbourne, N/S Moreton, Upton, Appleford, Long Wittenham). We would love to accommodate families from a further afield but unfortunately we do not always have capacity. Please answer the questions when you book - in order to manage demand and meet our grant funding conditions your booking may not be accepted if you do not have a postcode in the area above.
