The National Emergency Briefing film show will occur on 29 November 2026 at the Tap Social Movement - Botley Taproom in Botley. Attendees will have the opportunity to view the film addressing the climate crisis and engage in discussions about local actions.
A chance to see the National Emergency Briefing film on the climate crisis, and to talk about what we can do locally.
This 45 minute film - introduced by Chris Packham – is based on the 'National Emergency Briefing’ event held in Westmonster for MPs and others last November. Those speaking in the film include Oxford academics Paul Behrens and Natalie Seddon along with Lieutenant General Richard Edward Nugee, former Defence Services Secretary (2015–2016). It reminds us that climate change is real, that we (as humanity) are a major cause cause, that its effects are likely to be very serious, but that there is plenty that can and is being done to tackle it.
We will follow this with a short discussion about what we can do locally, as individuals and as a community
Doors open 2pm - Film will be shown 3pm. Food and drink available.
The showing is being organised by Oxford Friends of the Earth with support from Low Carbon West Oxford and Oxfordshire County Council. We are grateful to the Tap Social for putting on this event.
