The Harcourt Arms in Oxford will host a poetry club discussion focused on Under Milk Wood by Dylan Thomas. The event explores the lyrical nature of Thomas's work and recommends listening to adaptations alongside reading the text.
We will discuss *Under Milk Wood*, by Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. **We will meet at the HARCOURT ARMS pub in Jericho.** Born in Swansea, Wales, Dylan Thomas is famous for his acutely lyrical and emotional poetry. The originality of his work makes categorization difficult. Considered to be one of the greatest Welsh poets of all time, Thomas is largely known for his imaginative use of language and vivid imagery in his poems. Under Milk Wood is described as 'a play for voices', though it is undeniably poetic. As well as reading it, I recommend that you listen to it. There are many adaptations available to listen to online, such as: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jN3scLX2WY&t=10s
