A Celebration of Music for Mandolins and Guitars in Falkland Palace's Chapel Royal!

Falkland Palace and Garden is delighted to present Lucky Pluckers at Falkland Palace: A Celebration of Music for Mandolins and Guitars.

The Edinburgh Mandolin and Guitar Orchestra was formed in 2008 by Scottish traditional musician Nigel Gatherer, with Michael Graham being appointed as their musical director in 2017. Their membership is drawn from across Scotland’s East coast and currently numbers around 20 players of mandolins, mandolas, 6-string guitars, and bass instruments.

"We play a mixture of light classical music, music from film/musicals, traditional folk music, and some modern compositions, really, whatever takes our fancy! Concerts are held locally throughout Edinburgh and Fife" with recent performances in St Giles Cathedral and St Cecilia's Hall & Music Museum), and have given successful concert tours to Iona, Argyll, Germany, and the Netherlands.

Doors will open at 6:30pm, with a start time of 7pm. The concert will be two 45 minute sessions with a ten minute break.

Please be aware that the Chapel Royal is only accessable up one flight of spiral stairs.

We recommend bringing a cushion for comfort!
