Perth's famous Christmas Lights Switch-On Weekend returns for another vibrant, fun-filled event in the heart of the city centre. Running from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 November, this is one of Scotland’s most magical festive celebrations. Get ready for the city to sparkle as we light up the streets; enjoy live music and dazzling street performances; tuck into some delicious festive food and drink; and shop until you drop at the bustling Christmas market filled with seasonal treats and gifts. The weekend kicks off on Friday 20 November, when the Festive Market opens along King Edward Street and High Street for three days of treats and gifting inspiration. Santa's Grotto will also open at Horsecross Plaza, with Santa taking up residence for all three days of the switch-on weekend. We'd love to see all the good children form an orderly queue to receive an early Christmas gift. Friday is also full of spooky fun with the Christmas Ghost Tours, and dancemania at the Silent Disco. And that's us just getting started! Saturday is switch-on day itself. The Santa Run gets things moving at midday, followed by an afternoon of street entertainment, funfairs and live music across three big stages located at Tay Street, King Edward Street and Mill Street.
