Interactive session designed to build confidence, understanding and practical skills when supporting people with sight and hearing loss.

The session will cover:

An introduction to VisionPK and the support available

Understanding common eye conditions and hearing loss

Communication tips for working with people with sight and hearing loss

Practical guiding techniques for supporting people with sight loss

An introduction to useful equipment and assistive technology

VR Empathy Mapping – an immersive “walking in their shoes” experience

By the end of the training, participants will have a greater understanding of the everyday experiences of people with sensory loss and will be equipped with practical ways to provide respectful, inclusive and effective support.

Refreshments will be provided on arrival.

A 15-minute refreshment break will take place at 11:30am.
