About This Event

The film 'The Archivist' will be screened at Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery on 15 November 2026 at 14:00 as part of the Gateway Film Festival. The film explores the efforts of David 'Doc' Rowe to preserve a vast collection of folk customs.

In a battle against time and technology, can ‘Britain’s greatest living folklorist’ find a home for his vast collection?

David 'Doc' Rowe has spent the last 60 years tirelessly documenting the rich tapestry of mysterious folk customs that continue to thrive in forgotten corners of this Island Nation.

In a battle against time and technology, can ‘Britain’s greatest living folklorist’ find a home for his vast and self-funded archive of irreplaceable audiovisual material?
