With Dorota Trajdos, a workshop introducing the art of hand thread painting, at the Hobbycraft in Peterborough on 21 November at 10:30am.

Introduction to the art of hand thread painting and how it creates realistic images using embroidery stitches. Suitable for beginners and anyone wishing to explore hand embroidery as a form of textile art.

The session will include viewing examples of completed work and discussing the techniques used to achieve texture, depth and colour and working on your own sample.

You will learn about suitable fabrics, embroidery threads, needles, hoops and other essential materials and understand how fabric choice, thread selection and colour palettes contribute to successful thread painting.

Materials will be provided.

This event is for those aged 16 and over.

Your Tutor

Dorota "Dee" Trajdos is a multi-disciplinary artist. Dorota’s art spans painting, drawing, embroidery, and photography. She is a practitioner of Kinusaiga Art and realistic thread painting embroidery. Dorota aims to inspire others, showing that creativity is not only an art form but also a path to healing, mindfulness, and a deeper connection with the world around us.

She is a member of the Community Champions Alliance and in 2026 she received the Civic Award for Contribution to Arts and Culture.
