We're delighted to invite you to our second themed Registered Managers Network meeting of the year, following requests from local managers for more in-person opportunities to connect. The network brings together managers from across Dorset to share experiences, discuss challenges, and stay up to date with sector developments. This face-to-face event will provide dedicated time for open and confidential peer discussion, giving you the chance to exchange ideas, solutions, and best practice with colleagues.
What's on the Agenda?
CQC Assessment: What to Expect
This session will focus on the evolving CQC assessment framework and the implications of the recently concluded consultation.
Led by Isabel De La Haye, Solicitor at Lester Aldridge, the morning will provide practical insights into:
Current and emerging approaches to CQC assessments
What providers can expect throughout the assessment process
Lessons from recent assessments and sector trends
Characteristics commonly seen in services rated Outstanding
We'd love to hear any feedback and experiences from providers who have recently been inspected, including anyone involved in CQC pilot activity
Our aim is to demystify the assessment process, helping managers feel informed, confident, and prepared for engagement with CQC.
DoLS Update
In the second half of the meeting, Isabel will explore the implications of the recent DoLS judgment and what it may mean for providers in practice. We will have the chance to discuss this key topic prior to the anticipated guidance from the Department for Health & Social Care including case studies to help practitioners understand how it should be applied. The timeframe for this is as yet unknown however the DHSC have said that it would work with a range of partners in developing this.
When booking, you'll also have the opportunity to submit questions or topics in advance so that Isabel can tailor the session to the issues that matter most to you.
We look forward to welcoming both familiar and new faces to the network. Join us to connect with peers, share experiences, and gain practical insights on key regulatory developments. If you have any questions, please contact us at picare@bpc.ac.uk.
