A guided beachcombing walk occurs on 27 October 2026 at the Fine Foundation Wild Seas Centre in Poole. Participants will explore Kimmeridge to find items washed ashore by the sea. Tickets cost between £4.00 and £6.00.
Join us for a guided beachcombing walk at Kimmeridge to discover the treasures washing up on our beaches.
Everything that the sea washes ashore has a story to tell. What is it? Where has it come from? How did it get here? Join us at Kimmeridge for a guided beachcombing event to search for and discover the stories behind some of our more common and unusual beach treasures. Unlock the mysteries of what a mermaid keeps in her purse, or why some seashells have tiny holes drilled through them.
The event starts at 2pm and will last approximately 1.5 hours. Please aim to arrive 5-10 minutes before the start time.
Wellies are recommended. Alternatively, other sturdy footwear for walking along the beach that you don't mind getting a bit wet. Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions on the day.
Access to Kimmeridge Bay is via a toll road which costs £6 per car (charges vary depending on the vehicle). Car parking is included in the toll fee.
