Join us at Lorton for a Family Nature Walk. We will explore the reserve looking for as many species of birds, bugs and blooms as we can find

Join a Dorset Wildlife Trust Warden at this family event on a morning stroll around Lorton Meadows Nature Reserve. We will be looking for some of the butterflies, birds, bugs and blooming flowers species found on this beautiful site in late summer. Our staff and volunteers will help you identify the wildlife that we see along the way.

This event is suitable for families with children from 4 to 15 yrs old. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Event runs 10.00 a.m. - 12.00p.m.

Tickets are charged at £6 for adults and £4 for children.

Please book a ticket for all members of your party.

Please be aware that there may be areas of uneven muddy ground so wear stout shoes or walking boots. Also bring what you need (hats, coats, drinking water etc) and wear clothing appropriate to weather on the day.

Free parking is available on site.

Toilet and baby changing facilities on site.

If coming by public transport the number 10 bus runs regularly between Weymouth and Dorchester with the nearest bus stop at Nottington Lane. If travelling from Dorchester nearest stop is Broadwey Methodist Church. It is then approximately a 10-15 minute walk to the centre via Dorchester Rd then Lorton Lane.

If coming by train the nearest station is at Upwey followed by approximately 20 minute walk via Dorchester Rd then Lorton Lane.

DWT reserves the right to cancel the event at any time. In the event of DWT cancelling an event, a full refund will be issued.

DWT reserves the right to reschedule events in the event of unfavourable conditions and offer alternative dates or issue a full refund.

Cancelling your booking

Cancellations are accepted at the discretion of Dorset Wildlife Trust and a reasonable cancellation cause should be provided by the participant.

You may request a cancellation up to 7 days before the date of the course or workshop. You may be charged an administration fee.
