Three playful art workshops for adults, exploring colour, form, line and creative play, in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

Paint, Pen, Paper, Play is a series of three relaxed mixed-media (using a variety of art materials) workshops for adults, each focusing on a different way of working creatively - Using watercolour paint for colour and layering, circles and form to explore mandalas, and line, pattern and doodle using pen.

The sessions are designed to be playful and accessible, with plenty of space to experiment, try new materials and enjoy the process without pressure to produce a perfect finished piece. No previous art experience is needed, and all materials are provided.

Each workshop works as a complete standalone session, so you can book just one and still have a full creative experience. If you join all three, the sessions also build naturally on one another, with ideas, materials and skills carrying through the series so that the workshops work together as a connected whole.

You can book a single workshop, come along with a friend, or join all three as a series.

18 November – Watercolour paint, Flow, Colour & Layer

Explore watercolour, colour mixing, transparent layers and mark-making through a series of playful exercises. Inspired by mindful practices and the art of letting go of expectations.

25 November – Circle & Form

Work with circles, repetition, colour and contemporary mandala-inspired composition. Including painting with the non-dominant hand. Inspired by Carl Jung's interests in manadals. This seesion encourages a less controlled, more instinctive approach.

2 December – Line, Pattern & Doodle

Explore spontaneous drawing, repeated marks, pattern and working over colour. Using art from previous sessions if available or using provided papers to explore intuitive pattern making.

What to expect

A friendly, informal evening with guided activities, creative prompts and time to work at your own pace. The focus is on curiosity, experimentation and finding your own way into the materials
