A talk by Dave Kennett & Myles Mence entitled “Rescued” Join ex-Yarmouth Lifeboat Coxswain Dave Kennett and former crew member Myles Mence as they introduce a gripping BBC 999 film and share their first-hand accounts of the dramatic 1993 rescue in which they were both involved. The crew were tasked to a capsized trimaran approximately four miles west of the Needles Channel, where a woman named Heidi was trapped aboard in rough seas. What followed was a dramatic and challenging rescue, with Heidi finally brought to safety after six and a half hours during a tense night-time vigil. Through the film and their personal recollections, Dave and Myles will bring this remarkable rescue to life, offering a fascinating insight into the bravery, skill and determination involved in saving a life at sea.
