Seminar 3: Ethics in Public Involvement
Join us for the third seminar in our series on engaging with people and communities in research. This seminar is also in collaboration with the NIHR funded Portsmouth Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) with Portsmouth City Council.
Speaker:
Dr. Simon Kolstoe: My academic interest is in Research Ethics and Integrity, specifically human participant Medical and Defence research. I work closely with the UK's Health Research Authority (NHS) as a Research Ethics Committee (REC) chair and member of the Community Committee.
Location:
Online or in-person: University Learning Centre (ULC), Room 1.24
Seminar topic:
In this seminar we will discuss some of the ethical issues associated with working with people and communities, drawing distinctions between undertaking public involvement activities and research.
This seminar is open to all and can be joined either online or in-person (University of Portsmouth - room to be confirmed). We encourage researchers at all career stages, public involvement leads, and members of the public to join us.
