Over the course of two years, Portsmouth-based female activists and witnesses to female agency here attended life-writing workshops. The sessions allowed them to pen their own stories, without the filters or curations of external bias. From this has come some really strong personal, often vulnerable, poetry mapping less-visible areas where women make a significant difference to families, community and society at large. This poetry volume shines a light on that work, how it came into being, and the individuals who have written it -- several of whom are previously unpublished.
