If you have been curious about chess but felt intimidated by the complexity of the game, our upcoming beginner workshop is the perfect place to start. We are getting together in Portsmouth to strip away the jargon and focus on the fundamentals. Whether you have never moved a piece before or you know the basics but want to get more comfortable playing in a relaxed setting, this session is designed for you. We will spend the afternoon walking through basic movements, simple opening strategies, and how to think through your next few moves. The goal is to keep things low-pressure and friendly, focusing on learning together rather than high-stakes competition. We will provide boards and pieces, so you just need to bring yourself and an open mind. If you are interested in joining us, please click the button to RSVP so we can get an accurate headcount for the space.
