Warm, all-embracing remembrance initiative filled with love and light - a vivid and poignant way to honour the memory of family and friends

The nights are getting darker, but the grounds of St Catherine’s Hospice are about to be filled with love and light, as a vivid and poignant way for people to remember family and friends who have died.

The Hospice – which cares for thousands of patients and their loved ones from across South Ribble, Preston and Chorley – has launched its annual Light Up A Life dedications

This year, the display will feature even more lights, across an even wider area of land and structures in the Hospice grounds, next to St Catherine’s Park in Lostock Hall.

The lights will be initially switched on during two reflective events on 29th and 30th November. They will then stay on throughout the Festive Season, to 31st January 2027.

The name of the loved one is added to a special Light Up A Life Remembrance Book, which can be viewed at the Hospice or online. Those making the dedication also receive a personalised card to display at home.

The switch-on evenings in the grounds of St Catherine’s are Sunday 29th November and Monday 30th November from 5pm.These events include music, readings, refreshments, and opportunities for remembrance.
