【四集連映】尋港督：喺新屋企，揾舊屋企故事。去到雷丁嘞！All 4 Episodes Back-to-Back | Tracing the Governors: Old Hong Kong stories in a new home. Here we come Reading!

移居英國的香港人，在昔日「殖民宗主國」重新出發。有否想過，曾經管治我們、高高在上的港督，原來就是英國新居的街坊？

《港督原來喺左近》伙拍移英港人，「瓹窿瓹罅」尋找港督在英國的足跡，不但走訪英國大城小鎮歷史現場、隱世圖書館和墓地、又向英國鄰居尋根究柢，回顧港督的政策如何塑造及影響香港人的命運。

今次《綠豆》將一氣呵成，在雷丁的放映會四集連映，完整放映「尋港督」系列四集紀錄片，並設映後分享，深入交流拍攝背後的故事。

四位港督與他們的時代

◾盧吉（第14任港督）港督原來係非洲梟雄

盧吉創辦香港大學，督導九廣鐵路通車，鋪上現代化之路。你又是否知道，他曾在非洲開疆闢土，奉大英帝國之命合併南北尼日利亞。他信奉帝國秩序與教育力量，同時也遺下殖民統治的衝突與傷痕。

◾葛量洪（第22任港督）港督都要由治及興

你可能聽過葛量洪醫院、教育學院，甚至滅火輪上也有他的名字。葛量洪任港督時，正值戰後重建與冷戰初期，他曾帶領香港「由治及興」；但同時在政制上，他選擇不作民主化改革，其功過仍待後人評說。

◾寶靈（第4任港督）港督都係我街坊

雖然香港人對他未必熟悉，但寶靈街與鵝頸街市也留下他的名字與印記。而寶靈任內的「亞羅號事件」引發了二次鴉片戰爭，九龍割讓予英國，改寫香港命運。寶靈的理想與爭議，也隨之留下。

◾金文泰（第17任港督）港督都識廣東情歌

金文泰能以廣東話與華紳對談，任內提倡中文教育，並將《粵謳》譯為 Cantonese Love Songs，為中西之間搭起橋樑。然而在殖民體制下高舉中華文明，是對文化的尊重，還是治理的手段，交纏難分。

Hi, Your Excellency embarks on a profound journey as Hongkongers resettle in the land of their former governors. Ever wondered that the governors who once held sway over their lives might have lived just down the road? This soul-searching travelogue takes new migrants on an adventure to unearth forgotten colonial tales, shedding fresh light on the past.

As they hunt for the Governor’s footprints, they’ll mingle with locals and uncover hidden gems around their new home. This short documentary is a thoughtful exploration of heritage, memory, and the intricate connections between past and present.

Green Bean Media will host a screening in Reading, featuring all 4 episodes back-to-back from the “Tracing the Governors” series.

All 4 Episodes Back-to-Back：Frederick Lugard, Alexander Grantham, John Bowring & Cecil Clementi (*Suitable only for persons aged 12 and over)

Each episode runs for approximately 30 to 40 minutes, followed by a post-screening sharing session.

Four Governors and Their Eras

◾Frederick Lugard (The 14th HK Governor) - A Governor made his mark in Africa; slipped into footnotes in Hong Kong.

Lugard founded the University of Hong Kong and oversaw the Kowloon–Canton Railway, paving the colony’s path to modernity. Yet beyond Hong Kong, he carried out the British Empire’s grand design by merging Northern and Southern Nigeria. A believer in imperial order and the power of education, he left behind a legacy defined by both institutional progress and colonial scars.

◾Alexander Grantham (The 22th HK Governor) - The Governor who quietly shaped modern Hong Kong

You may recognize Grantham’s name from a hospital, a college, or even a fireboat. Governing during the fragile years of post-war recovery and the early Cold War, he steered Hong Kong toward stability and prosperity. Yet, he chose not to pursue democratic reform, leaving a political legacy that remains a subject of debate today.

◾John Bowring (The 4th HK Governor) - Once a Governor, now my neighbour!?

While his name might be unfamiliar to some, it lives on through Bowring Street and Bowrington Road Market. Yet, it was the Arrow Incident during his governorship that sparked the Second Opium War, leading to the cession of Kowloon — a turning point for Hong Kong that left both ideals and controversy in his wake.

◾Cecil Clementi (The 17th HK Governor) - The Governor who fancied Cantonese love songs

Clementi mastered Cantonese for dialogue with local elites, promoted Chinese education, and bridged East and West by translating "Cantonese Love Songs". Yet under the colonial order, his elevation of Chinese culture blurred the line between genuine respect and a strategic tool of rule.
