Join us for a Curator's Tour focusing on our latest display on women artists and print in the early 20th century

Women played a vital role in the University of Reading's early School of Art. Our latest display brings fresh attention to women students who made prints, exploring both their artistic processes and varied careers. This tour, delivered by Curator of Art, Dr Hannah Lyons, explores the ways in which these students adopted wood block printing in the Japanese style — a pioneering method of printmaking during this time.

This tour is free and un-ticketed but places are limited. Please be aware that the tour will involve walking within our exhibition space and that gallery seating is not available. Folding stools are available upon request. The tour is wheelchair accessible via a lift from ground to first floors. Entrance is via The Museum of English Rural Life (The MERL).

Please gather to meet our team in the MERL café at 12noon.

This event is part of Art History Festival 2026 organised by the Association for Art History.
