On 24 November 2026, a workshop titled 'Optimising propyzamide: Save costs, control blackgrass and protect water' will be held at BCA in Burchett's Green. This event will provide insights into South East Water's propyzamide timing trials and is free to attend.
Find out about South East Water's propyzamide timing trials and what that means for you.
We'll be joined by independent consultant Stephen Moss, at the Berkshire College of Agriculture where we'll discuss our investigations on the effects on blackgrass suppression using early applications of propyzamide, as well as reduced and split doses, compared to standard application timing and rates. We’ll be sharing the results of these trials and how you may be able to save on propyzamide application, while also protecting local water resources.
You will also hear from speakers from South East Water, discussing water quality in the catchment, updates to our Capital Grant Scheme, other ongoing trials, and how you can be involved.
The event will also include a walk to view the constructed farm wetland being established at the college which is being created to help treat water from the nearby farm yard. This is being part-funded by South East Water through our grant scheme.
Lunch will be provided, and there will be plenty of time to catch up with other local farmers, advisors, and professionals.
