The Reading ADHD Group’s in-person support gatherings provide a relaxed space for adults with ADHD to meet on 25 August 2026 at 18:30, held at RISC World Shop and Global Refills. Entry is free of charge and no diagnosis is required.
Our in-person meet-ups offer a relaxed, inclusive space for adults (18+) with ADHD to meet others who understand. No diagnosis required
Background
Our in person meet ups offer a relaxed, inclusive space for adults (18+) with ADHD to connect with others who understand. This is a peer support group, not a medical service, and you do not need a diagnosis to attend. There’s no pressure to speak, you can share, listen, or simply show up. Everyone is welcome.
We began meeting in early 2024 in response to the lack of meaningful support available to people with ADHD both before and after diagnosis. What started as four people around a table has grown into a supportive, welcoming community. Alongside our regular in person meet ups, we also run events such as coping strategies workshops and Connect Outdoors walking support groups. You can find details of our other events on our website.
What to expect
It’s completely normal to feel nervous before attending your first session, many people do. Not knowing what to expect or feeling anxious around new people is very common. That said, most people who come along once choose to return.
We keep sessions as informal and relaxed as possible. We usually begin by briefly going around the room and introducing ourselves, but this is entirely optional. After that, the conversation naturally settles into an informal, supportive discussion.
People attend at all stages of their ADHD journey and from a wide range of backgrounds. Some come looking for advice or reassurance, while others enjoy offering support based on their own experiences. There’s no right or wrong way to take part.
Although we’re called Reading ADHD Group, you don’t need to live in Reading to attend, people join us from across the wider area.
If you’re thinking about coming along but feel unsure, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’re always happy to answer questions and welcome new people.
If this will be your first time attending, please take a moment to read our disclaimer and group guidelines.
