Join the Sonning Deanery Confirmation Choir!

Come along & Sing with the Deanery Choir for our confirmation service

No prior experience required, smiles are all that are needed for this scratch choir.

All that is needed for you will be provided on the day, so you just need to bring yourselves along.

But if you are a dab hand at music and would like to sing harmony, please bring along your Hymns Old and New (HON) with music with you, as we'll be singing from here.

When: Sunday 15th November 2026

Rehersals will begin at: 2:30pm

The service starts at: 4pm

Where: St. John the Baptist Church, Crowthorne, RG45 7NT

Parking

Parking can be found on: Waterloo Road, Church street and surrounding roads. We are prioritising Waterloo Road and Church Street for candidate car parking, or those with mobility issues. Please can we request no parking on double yellow lines as this really congests the road for local residents. Other car parks for guests include: Heath Hill Road South, RG45 7AQ, Morgan Rec Car Park, RG45 7LD, Co-Operative Car Park RG45 7AF. Please note some of these car parks have a 2 hour limit. Please car share where possible :)

The choir will be led by Katherine Bond Smith. She is a soprano, graduated from Cardiff University with First Class Honours and from the Royal Academy of Music with a DipRAM. Her work has included roles with Opera Holland Park, Garsington Opera and Buxton Festival Opera as well as performances at the Wigmore Hall, St John’s Smith Square and on Radio 3’s ‘In Tune’. She also loves walking and sailing! Teacher training brought all her previous experiences together; enriching and regenerating Katherine’s approach to music and education. Katherine now delights in teaching singing to children at local schools. At St. John's Church, Crowthorne, Katherine leads the community choir at 'Come & Sing' & 9 lessons and Carols, as well as other services and musical festivals throughout the year.
