10th Annual Thanksgiving Service

Join us for a very special afternoon of thanksgiving, celebration and community as Black History Association (Gravesham and Kent) marks ten years of its journey.

Our 10th Annual Thanksgiving Service will bring together people from across Kent, Medway and beyond to celebrate Black History Month 2026 and give thanks for the individuals, churches, organisations and communities that have supported and sustained our work.

This year’s national Black History Month theme, “Honouring Our Communities,” has particular significance as we celebrate a decade of bringing people together through Black history, heritage, faith, education and community engagement.

Our Christian theme for this special anniversary service is:

“Celebrating our faith, our strength and our freedom in Christ.”

We are delighted that The Rt Revd Rose Hudson-Wilkin, Bishop of Dover, will be our guest preacher. The service will also include Bible readings, uplifting hymns and worship, music and special contributions, multilingual prayers, reflections and thanksgiving for the Association’s ten-year journey.

We will be joined by civic and community leaders, members, friends and supporters as we honour the past, celebrate the present and look with hope towards the future.

Whether you have been part of our journey from the beginning, have attended one of our previous events, or are discovering the Association for the first time, you are warmly invited to join us.
