BGH x Putting Down Routes: Borough Green to Otford Scenic Hike
Saturday 26th September 2026
Meeting time: 9:45am
Difficulty: Moderate
Distance: Approx 12km
Duration: Approx 4.5 hours
Join us for a scenic autumn hike along one of the most beautiful sections of the North Downs Way. This hike is easily accessible by train from London.
Beginning in the historic village of Borough Green and ending in the picturesque village of Otford, this route offers sweeping panoramic views across the Kent countryside, peaceful woodland trails, rolling farmland and rare chalk grassland.
As we make our way through the landscape, we'll pass through the historic village of Wrotham before climbing onto the North Downs, where far-reaching views stretch across the Greensand Ridge and Darent Valley. Along the way, we'll enjoy the signs of early autumn, connect with nature and enjoy great conversation, like we do at every Black Girls Hike event!
It takes less than an hour to travel from London Charing Cross, Blackfriars, or Victoria to Borough Green & Wrotham by train, over a distance of around 24 miles (38 km). Otford is equally as easy to travel back from.
As this is a special partnership event, we'll be welcoming a larger group than usual on this walk (50+ attendees), giving even more people the opportunity to experience this beautiful section of the North Downs Way together.
It is the perfect walk for those looking to experience one of Kent's most iconic National Trails while enjoying a supportive, welcoming group atmosphere.
